Could we love Alserkal Avenue anymore? The cultural hub has just launched Blank Space, an initiative supporting up to three UAE-based collectives. The programme offers artists room to experiment, collaborate and engage with audiences without the financial burden of a permanent space.
In a time when many emerging creatives face uncertainty, Blank Space provides access to essential utilities, selected materials and equipment. It’s a rare opportunity to test ideas, present work and grow a practice within one of the UAE’s most dynamic creative hubs.

Basmah El Bittar, Director of Alserkal Avenue, explains: “Blank Space came about as a response to the pressures that emerging creatives in the UAE are experiencing. The initiative encourages practitioners from different disciplines to come together and benefit from an established creative infrastructure without the financial pressure of a permanent space.”
Applications must be submitted by 10 April 2026. Interested collectives should refer to the terms and conditions on the Alserkal Avenue website for full submission requirements. Selected collectives will be offered a four-week residency to realise their project, experiment freely and connect with audiences in meaningful ways.

We can’t wait to see the art, design and performances that emerge from the studio - best of luck to everyone applying!
