Written and curated by the show’s Emmy-nominated costume designer, Marylin Fitoussi. The book offers a detailed exploration of the looks that define the series’ visual identity and global appeal.
Far from functioning as a conventional costume catalogue, the book positions fashion as a narrative force within the show. Through behind-the-scenes photography, sketches, mood boards and handwritten notes, Marylin traces how each outfit was conceived, sourced and styled to reflect character, emotion and context. The publication highlights 25 of her favourite looks from across the series.

The book also examines the show’s broader cultural impact, particularly how its bold approach to dressing moved rapidly from screen to social media. Under Marylin’s direction, Emily in Paris developed a highly recognisable style language defined by digital age maximalism, unexpected colour clashes and a playful disregard for traditional fashion rules. For Season 4 alone, Marylin sourced more than 25,000 pieces from over 480 brands, mixing heritage fashion houses with emerging designers she actively champions.
With a foreword by Emily in Paris creator Darren Star, the publication reflects on how costumes can operate as a character in its own right. Darren, known for reshaping fashion’s role in television through series such as Sex and the City, frames the book as a celebration of how clothing can shape perception and storytelling. The result is an intimate look at a creative partnership that reshaped how television fashion is discussed, consumed and shared worldwide.

Produced in Assouline’s signature large-format hardcover style, the book features exclusive photography created specifically for the publication, along with archival material previously unreleased. It serves as both a visual record of the show’s evolution and a study of costume design as a form of authorship.
