Unveiling on 5 November, the ICD Brookfield Place Arts Programme presents High Spirits, a new, large-scale installation by Saudi artist Nasser Almulhim.

Commissioned specifically for the Summer Garden, the work transforms one of DIFC’s most recognisable public spaces into a living composition of colour, form and movement, acting as an immersive, architectural extension of Nasser’s abstract visual language.

Known for his vibrant explorations of spirituality and emotion through colour, Nasser brings his signature sense of rhythm beyond the canvas. Sculptural forms inspired by his paintings rise from the floor and suspend from the ceiling, echoing organic silhouettes in motion. These floating elements interact with three luminous canvases in cobalt, ochre and coral, in a choreography of meditative energy.

The work continues Nasser’s long-standing interest in abstraction as a meditative practice stemming from geometry, psychology and a healing process for the inner and outer self. The installation invites visitors to slow down and rediscover a sense of wonder within the everyday.

“With High Spirits, I wanted to treat colour as something you can walk into and absorb. I hope people feel an uplift when they pass through the space, a reminder that joy, curiosity and play still have a place in our daily environments, even in the middle of work and routine.” says Nasser.

Curated by Malak Abu Qaoud, Director of Arts & Events at ICD Brookfield Place, High Spirits expands the Arts Programme’s commitment to turning architectural spaces into platforms for creative dialogue. “Bringing Nasser’s work to life in three dimensions feels like stepping back into childhood. It’s playful, sweet and full of joy.” says Malak

High Spirits by Nasser Almulhim runs at ICD Brookfield Place, Summer Garden, DIFC and is free and open to the public during the building's regular visiting hours.
