This Ramadan, The Arts Club Dubai transforms one of its most refined lounges into an intimate Ladies’ Majlis - an elegant sanctuary created exclusively for female members and their guests.
Curated in collaboration with FAME Collective (Female Artists of the Middle East), the Majlis presents a showcase of outstanding women artists from across the region, celebrating painting, sculpture and collectible design. The selection explores themes of identity, heritage and modern expression, highlighting the vital contribution of women to the region’s evolving artistic landscape and offering members the chance to engage with a distinct cross-section of contemporary voices.
Participating artists include Nada Debs, Huda Baroudi, Maria Hibri of BOKJA, Nadine Kanso x Iwan Maktabi, Mona Trad Dabaji, Ilá Sarái, Studio Majnoona, Super Loop, Karimah Hassan, Maisa Shaldan, Dina Sue, Assieds-Toi, Carla Baz, and Karina Sukar.

Samovar, founded in the 1920s as a family carpet business, has evolved into a name synonymous with luxury, quality and enduring style. With showrooms in Dubai and Doha, and a main base in Kuwait, it collaborates with leading designers across the region, blending heritage with modern flair and presenting exclusive international designer carpets alongside bespoke, one-of-a-kind creations.

Karimah Hassan is a British Yemeni artist, writer and performer whose multidisciplinary practice weaves large-scale painting, spoken word and socially engaged storytelling. Trained in architecture at the Royal College of Art, she translates spatial awareness into vibrant, layered works shaped by memory, ancestry and place, amplifying themes of intimacy, belonging and visibility through colour, text and performance.
Maria Hibri of BOKJA, a Beirut-based design collective, draws inspiration from storytelling and the weaving of narratives to foster a creative, sustainable community. Known for its assemblage aesthetic, the collective combines textile fragments from different times and places into unexpected compositions, transforming traditional craft into contemporary design. Its name refers to a traditional fabric bundle used to wrap a bride’s dowry, hand-embroidered by generations of women, symbolising shared craft and cultural legacy.
Beyond its beautifully curated environment, the Majlis will host a programme of women-centred conversations and experiences, co-curated with FAME Collective.
Highlights include a female founders’ roundtable and an intention-setting session led by Synkro, thoughtfully designed gatherings that invite reflection, connection and meaningful exchange throughout the Holy Month.

Reflecting on the Majlis, Ajaz Sheikh, Group CEO of The Arts Club, noted: “We are always exploring new ways to honour the culture and creative talent of the Middle East. The Majlis is a meaningful expression of this, shaped in partnership with female creatives from the region and deeply rooted in a spirit of generosity, beauty, and quiet strength. It is a privilege to support such creative talent through this collaboration, and to offer our female members a space that feels deeply familiar and reassuring, yet distinctly new.”
