Dubai’s cultural scene is set to come alive as Alserkal Avenue launches its first-ever Alserkal Art Month, a dynamic programme running from 18 April to 18 May. Expanding beyond its traditional Art Week, the initiative brings together artists, collectives and cultural practitioners from across the region, highlighting the resilience and collaborative spirit of the UAE’s arts ecosystem.

Spanning five weekends, the programme transforms Alserkal Avenue into a hub of creativity, dialogue and exchange. Visitors can expect a mix of gallery exhibitions, public art commissions, performances, workshops and community-led initiatives. The month will culminate alongside Art Dubai 2026, reinforcing its significance within the region’s cultural calendar.
A key highlight is the opening of 16 exhibitions on 18 April across the Avenue’s contemporary galleries, alongside Still A Sky We Hold, a newly commissioned public artwork by Shilpa Gupta. From 25 April to 8 May, Déjà vu will bring together 18 UAE galleries in a curated group exhibition at Concrete, accompanied by Majlis Talks curated by Nadine Khalil.

The programme also embraces experimental formats, including Blank Space takeovers, interdisciplinary collaborations and creative workshops led by regional talents. Community-focused events such as Slow Walks, poetry readings and performances invite audiences to engage more deeply with the arts.
According to Basmah El Bittar, Director of Alserkal Avenue, the initiative reflects a shared commitment to ambitious creative output. With support from partners across the UAE, including Alserkal Arts Foundation, Art Month stands as a vibrant celebration of connection, creativity and cultural resilience.
